Light foxing throughout bound in calf with black leather spine label gilt lettering a bit dulled but quite readable even from a distance. Covers moderately rubbed. All in all a square, tight copy with unmarked text.

Hardcover. Condition: Good. Second printing- printed while slavery was still legal and practiced in America. Original leather binding with marbled textblock, gilt lettering on spine. Blackening to bottom of spine & back board, possible heat damage. Otherwise in good condition. Occasional foxing throughout. Original owner's name in calligraphy ink on ffep. Splitting at hinges but binding is intact, protected by plastic.

637pp. plus errata leaf. Modern half morocco, blindstamp and inked number on titlepage. Internally very clean. Very good. Pro-slavery work in the form of a textbook, drawing on a number of religious sources including the Bible. Several editions or printings were issued after this first edition.
